Day 4: Illuminating Light:

On Wednesday, the fourth day of creation, our earth was illuminated by bright lights to shine both day and night. On the first day of creation, light itself was created. Genesis 1:15 says, “And God said, let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.” Now God wanted to give illumination to help the Garden Goodness plants to grow.

Sunshine is essential to our well being. The light from the sun provides us with energy, vitamins, and makes the world a colorful place to live in. Most of us know that the sun helps our bodies produce vitamin D, which is important to our health. But do you realize how important it is? Vitamin D helps the calcium in your body work properly to keep your bones strong. It also keeps your immune system healthy. Children, for example, who are vitamin D deficient are more likely to suffer from asthma and allergies.

Each colorful food carries with it phytonutrients, anti-oxidants, flavonoids, and other powerful natural chemicals that heal your body and prevent disease.

SUMMING IT UP:

On the fourth day our Creator placed the moon, sun & the stars in our sky not only to be an illuminating light for us to see by, but as a healing and strengthening agent to our bodies. In addition, light provides us with the vibrant colors we see—many of which are found in the plants we like to eat. These colorful plant foods work with our body to improve our health and prevent diseases.
